Lakewood, Ohio Speed Traps
West 117th near Franklin Blvd.
Lakewood police officer sits in the parking lot of Panda Wok (private property I think) and clocks drivers coming north on 117th. Fairly steep downhill grade between here and Detroit makes it easy to go above 25 MPH accidentally. Keep your foot on the brake.
Warren Road near Bayes Avenue
I see Lakewood Cops sitting in the old brick church parking lot behind the building. They are impossible to see for southbound traffic and very difficult to see for northbound traffic due to the trees and shrubs. Speed limit is 25 but easy to go 35 coming north from Cleveland.
Bunts Road Near Merl Avenue
The Lakewood Police have now taken to sitting behind the power sub-station on Bunts Road just before the railroad tracks. With all the foliage and trees, he’s impossible to see until he’s already clocked you. They aren’t kidding when they say "strictly enforced."
Clifton Blvd. Near Lake Rd.
This is not the same Lake Rd. that Clifton turns into upon crossing into Rocky River. This is the only cross street between W. Clifton and the Rocky River line.
Police cruisers and sometimes motorcycles like to sit in the grassy berm facing east clocking westbound traffic just before the large bridge. They enforce 35 MPH, but this could probably be 45 with no driveways or cross traffic.
Detroit Ave. near Park Haven Row
A Lakewood PD cruiser will often sit in the back of the old Giant Eagle parking lot off of Park Haven Row clocking traffic on Detroit. Be careful, it is very difficult to see him with all of the light poles/fixtures in the parking lot that he often hides behind. Keep your speed at 25 or under.
