Jamieson Parkway near Alona Avenue

Cambridge, OntarioFeb 15, 20050 Comments

This is a great example of a Speed ‘Trap’. Police sit in a driveway to an abandoned lot on the South Side of Jamieson Parkway at the bottom of a hill. It is a 50 km/h zone but should be at least a 60 km/h zone. A great Revenue Producer!

Shantz hill/ King St. under 401 bridge

Cambridge, OntarioSep 24, 20030 Comments

They hang out under the bridge, Usually 3 or 4 cars and point the laser out into traffice. Although I have never been caught there, I drive that route regularly and notice they are making their quotas at this location. They rotate beween north bound or south bound. I usually see them 3 or 4 days a week either on my way out in the morning or coming back in the afternoon. It is a 50 zone to the south changing to a 60 (vice versa to the north) but routinely cops pull over people going 80 or more. Latley they have been wearing bright orange safety vests and they still catch people. Watch for this because it is so easy to speed there when there is alot of bare areas between sportsworld and preston parkway.

Cedar St., Just east of Grand Ridge

Cambridge, OntarioSep 09, 20030 Comments

Often sit at the bottom of the small valley, on either side of Cedar. Speed changes between 50 and 80 km/h just west of Grand Ridge. Eastbound drivers get caught not slowing soon enough and westbound get caught picking up speed going down hill towards the start of the 80 zone.

Fountain Street just north of 401 overpass.

Cambridge, OntarioJul 22, 20030 Comments

Between the train tracks and the 401 overpass is a dip in the road. The cops hide out in the cemetery entrance and catch people coming down the hill. The 50kph limit is easy to exceed when cresting the hill. Both Northbound and Southbound lanes are victimized.
