Chatham, Ontario Speed Traps
The OPP loves to hide down below grade level at the overpasses. They have a heavier presence between Tilbury & Chatham for some reason.
They always sit and check for cars speeding down taylor ave, and grand. I see them usualy 4 times a week. Sometimes there 2 and sometimes there’s just 1
sit in the parking lot to the park to monitor the 3 way stop issue daily for rolling stops
There are several speedtraps located in Chatam-Kent, the worst being at Bloomfield Rd, and Communication Rd. where the speed limit goes from 80km to 60km on the west side of communication Rd. Other speed traps to note in Chatham-kent are at McNaughtan Rd N. and Prince Albert Rd. where it also goes from 80km to 60km, it is also a school zone, both Chatham police, and OPP patrol there areas. The other one to note is on St Clair Rd just past Gregory Drive where speed goes from 60km to 50 km
Coming off of Grand Ave turning onto Vanier Dr, There is almost always a cop on Athlone Cr watching for any one going over 40.
Speed limit is reduced and there is a sign that fines are doubled right before where he sits, you can not see him because of the angle of the street,
Just got a $294 for going 55km… He is there at least 3 times a week, so I should have known better.
