Chatham, Ontario Speed Traps

As you are driving in the 80km/hr it becomes 50km/hr just before the bend in the road. The police park in the empty lot where the Tourist Hut used to be. They also park on the side streets of the small subdivision. You cannot see them until it is too late. It is a $350 fine if you get caught!

When travelling down hwy 2 going into Chatham, right before Shade Pine Restuarant (in front of the trailer park), police will wait in the parking lot. Speed limit changes from 90 km/h to 60 km/h.

We have driven through this stretch of hwy for many years, I always slow my speed down to below 120km in this area, there is almost always a trap set-up, in my opinion the most heavily ticketed area in Province of Ontario

Police sit in the parking lot next to the mini golf and catch the people as they speed up from the 50 kph to the 80 kph. Pathetic of them really!

Police sit on Indian Creek Rd. E by the cemetery. Post speed drops from 80k to 50k so it’s very easy to keep going 80 as it seems you’re still in the country.
