North York, Ontario Speed Traps
Islington Road near Hightway 7
I was trapped at Islington just south to Hy7. Two police cars were hidden in the Pioneer Ln on east of Islington just south to Hy-7.! Officer comes on road walking and waving to stop. They have radar/laser and they hide behind electric light pole. You may find some other victims in that street trapped already before you! Limit is 60 but there is slope and turn so you never notice them! Be watchful always!
Dufferin Street near Finch Avenue
Heading North on Dufferin (just off the Allen), there is a long downhill straightaway, I believe it is a 60 or 70, and there is a cop usually hiding in a side dirt road pulling people over on the east side. This is about 100-200m before Finch.
West Lawrence Avenue near Dufferin Street
Police sit either on Marianfield north of Lawrence West approaching Dufferin St. or in the west driveway of Columbus Centre Community Campus. Both locations have been observed to be very successful for police speed enforcement.
West Lawrence Avenue near Caledonia Road
Police park on north side of Lawrence West approaching Caledonia Road just west Wendy’s Restaurant near the city water pumping station. Westbound traffic cannot see the radar trap until it’s too late due to the rise of the roadway.
Steeles Road near Between Keele and Jane
A police car is sitting on either the North side watching the West bound traffic or on the South side watching the Eats bound traffic. There are some places where it is easy for them to park without being too obvious to drivers.
I have seen them recently on week days and on week-ends. Usually in the morning. Occasionally, not every day.
