Waterloo, Ontario Speed Traps
Erb Street near Ellis Crescent
As you are coming down Erb street away from Weber street approaching Margaret Avenue, I have seen police with radar on a semi-regular basis parked along Ellis Crescent. I’ve never seen one in the morning, but have in the early afternoon hours.
State Highway 7
There is a part where the sound barrier stops, and begins again on the eastbound part of highway 7/8 right before it becomes highway 85. The barrier starts again, but about 30 feet further from the road. This creates a perfect little pocket that OPP enjoy backing into, and tagging drivers who *cannot* in *any* way see them.
Bridgeport Street near State Highway 85
As you head east on Bridgeport, right after Bridgeport and Erb merge, underneath the underpass for highway 85, up until Lexington, the limit is (stupidly) 50, and it’s nearly IMPOSSIBLE to go that slowly. Cops like to hide behind the bushes on the right side in their car on a side road, and tag you.
Conestoga Expressway near University Avenue
I have seen cops parked in the median directly underneath the University Avenue bridge on Hwy 85(Conestoga Expressway-Old Hwy 86) on the northbound side and using radar.
University Ave.
This is the new part of University by the new RIM park complex. It is a nice 4 lane road but a idiotic speed limit of 50km/hr. A good way for cops to reach their quota.
