SE 92nd AVE Avenue

Portland, OregonJun 26, 20085 Comments

SE92nd Ave @2200 Blk School Zone. This is a school zone for Grace Luthern Church. Time of 20 miles an hour is & AM to 5PM. The rest of the time it is 35 mph. However, it is poorly marked and when I went to talk to the Portland Traffic department about this area, the woman helping me said, yes, they have many, many tickets given in that area because it is "poorly marked." I am wondering if you have statistics about this location or where I could find the number of traffic tickets issued in this location.

128th and Halsey Street

Portland, OregonJun 25, 20080 Comments

There is a Speed Trap at 127th & Halsey. The street goes from 45mph to 35mph about 130th then a short distance later maybe 2 blocks theres a sign that says "Traffic speeds enforced". 100 yards or so later theres a white van that shows speed and snaps photos.

Its really easy to still be going 40-45mph right thru there. Be careful.

SE Belmont Street near 65th Avenue

Portland, OregonMay 20, 20080 Comments

A white photo/radar van sits in the westbound lane of the 6500 block of SE Belmont. This street is marked 25 mph, but because there are few if no driveways emptying into the street, it’s not obvious that it is residential and the tendency is to speed up going up the hill. This van has been parked here off and on for about 10 years.

A white Portland Police van sits in a striped off area on the south side of the bridge just before the traffic from the I-5 exit for Oregon City merges into the east bound bridge traffic.

SE Powell Boulevard near 7th Avenue

Got ticketed by a motorcycle cop while headed east across the Ross Island bridge sat nite around 8pm. He was sitting on south side of powell near 7th on private property, lights off. I had been following two cars in the slow lane across the whole bridge with nobody behind me, so the lesson is -DRIVE FASTER so you wont be the last in line and the easiest to pull over!
