Springfield, Oregon Speed Traps
Hwy 126 (I-105) and the median just East of Mohawk overpass
A motorcycle officer is often parked in the grass/dirt median that is just at the end of the concrete barrier that runs down the middle of Hwy 126 just East of the Mohawk Blvd. bridge that goes over Hwy 126 aka I-105. I never speed when approaching this area from either direction.
14th Street between Main Street and D Street
The speed goes from 35 to 25 and motorcycle cop likes to tuck away in the church parking lot or down a few long driveways.
South A Street near 12th Street
There really isn’t a 12th street, but I’m referring to the stretch between 10th and 14th. One-way road, three lanes, no crosswalks, no intersections, no foot traffic, speed limit is 35mph. Normal traffic speed is no less then 40mph. There is often a patrol car in a parking lot on the right-hand side of the street – they pull over 20 plus cars a day. Actually, they pull over just as many as they have time for.
Olympic Street near 33rd? Street
On north side of Olympic, a patrol car sits at the Cardlock gas/diesel station as if it were fueling. Never been pulled over, but have seen him there in the afternoon and evening.
28th Street near Centennial Street
One, sometimes two patrol cars hang out at the fire station on the east side of 28th. Usually see them in the afternoon and into the evening. Have also seen one there late at night.
