Tigard, Oregon Speed Traps
Cascade Ave.
The cops will hide in a unmarked vehicle and take your picture. This happened to my daughter. She was going 40 in a 35 and there was no traffic on the street. Cops know people will be careful on the main road but become more relaxed on side streets. Watch out!
Interstate I-5 southbound near US Highway 99E to I-5 south onramp
Tigard and State patrol officers are running a speed trap on I-5 south from the 99E to I-5 south onramp using laser and possibly radar aiming back up the hill. I have seen them there every weekend night for the past 5 weeks. Down the road less than 1/2 mile just past the Haines st offramp/onramp between Landmark Ford and the Kruse way/217 offramp another patrol car sits with their lights completely off. Not sure if they are working together but I have seen both have drivers pulled at the same time.
Guarde Street near 121st St. to Walnut St.
Cresting the top of the hill coming from 121st St posted limit is 35MPH. From top of hill decline is 65 degrees downhill thru designated undevelopable woodland for approx. 3/10th of a mile. Posted 35MPH at bottom of hill before accessing residental area. Patrol likes to work from private drive on right side of road. No crosswalks or access points from woodland area cross section of road.
Scholls Ferry Road near 500 ft west of Barrows
Photo radar van often parked at bottom of hill approximately 500ft west of Barrows Rd. Appears to take photos of any vehicle traveling more than 5mph over posted limit (40mph).
Roy Rogers Road near Beef Bend Road
This road is a wide and fairly straight Washington County country road. The Sheriff has double-yellowed the entire stretch, even though all other roads in the area have passing lanes and are marked at 55 mph. The speed limit on Roy Rogers is 45 mph with a sign underneath stating that the limit is "temporary." As of 2/2004, this sign has been in place for well over two years. The Sheriff likes to hide in an entry way by a farm on the opposite side of the intersection at Roy Rogers and Beef Bend road. He is looking for speeders heading south to Tualatin/Sherwood from Beaverton/Tigard. This road should easily be a 55 mph zone and in Idaho would be a 65 mph zone. This is a major speed trap for the Washington County Sheriff’s office.
