Hwy 217 and Greenburg Rd.

Cops will place a motorcycle unit on the Greenburg Rd. overpass and have him light up northbound traffic. They will have 3+ patrol cars waiting on the on ramp from Greenburg Rd. and the motorcycle will radio to the patrol cars. I just happened to be looking up when I first discovered this trap and it saved my butt.

Cops will camp out around that intersection pretty often. Just a couple miles over the limit and you get pulled over. Not to mention the fastest light I’ve seen (yellow to red in less then 2 seconds) and if the light turns red before you get through you’re busted.

Highway 217

I travel this stretch of highway every night, and there is at least one Tigard patrol car out there roughly 3 nights per week. Traffic is usually very light at that time of night, so I often wonder why they even bother.

The cop chills on a side street while we all speed around a corner that should be 30 or 35, but remains 25MPH.

Interstate 5 at Exit 292 at OR Highway 217

OSP sits on the Elevated Southbound Entrance to I-5 from OR 217. This location is hidden from the view of Southbound drivers by the sweeping overhead exit from I-5 NB to OR 217 NB. The officer can take his pictures between the layers of the roadways. The long downhill section on I-5 from the OR 99 Exit 294 (Exit numbers get smaller SouthBound) to OR 217 Exit 292 promotes over speed limit travel. This section is just after you have crested Breeze Hill from the North, going South traffic always speeds up here and is usually quite bunched up from the slow truck traffic going uphill before this downhill section. Impatience and downhill travel gets traffic really moving usually 70+ in a 55 area. Be careful, he’s there most mornings @ 7:30am when I pass from SB 217 to SB I-5 on that on ramp. Or he has someone pulled over at Exit 290. I-5 is heavily patrolled from Exit 292 to Exit 283. This new perch has only been available to the OSP since the opening of the new SB on ramp early in the year, so many of you don’t nkow he is there.
