Jackson, Tennessee Speed Traps

While traveling I-40, be careful when coming into Madison County. Madison county covers from the 67 mile marker to the 95 mile marker. The Tennessee Highway Patrol has this area blanketed with troopers. Minimum fine for speeding $139.

The nearest highway patrol station is half a mile down the road from this speed trap, and THP cruisers are known to be sitting underneath the 45 by-pass bridge. Jackson has 5 main exits, this is a good position for a THP officer to pull over a violator. The speed limit drops from 70 to 65 just inside this area, for motorists doing 75 or more, you WILL be stopped. Radar is strongly enforced in this area. Truckers and out-of-towners are frequently pulled over not only by THP officers but by commercial vehicle inspectors as well.
