Interstate I-40/75 near Downtown West to Lovell Road

Knoxville, TennesseeJan 28, 20081 Comments

There are several broad shouldered area’s where they can pull off and radar though it’s most often during rush hours. It is pretty consistent for the officers to be out doing excessive enforcement at least 2 weeks out of the month, usually toward the beginning and end. It is heaviest around the Cedar Bluff to Lovel Road and Pellissippi Parkway area.

Interstate 40/640

Watch for police cars parked on the concrete banks beneath overpasses on all Knoxville freeways. Often, the patrol car is empty and left there as a reminder, but sometimes there will be an officer in it, "taking pictures." Also, keep an eye out for KPD Blue Hawks (motorcycle cops) on I-640. They patrol there regularly and they can be hard to spot in traffic.

Atlantic Avenue near US Highway 33

Knoxville, TennesseeAug 16, 20070 Comments

All rural streets are 30 mph. unless otherwise noted. But they enforce it daily on this road. It would be better served to have it 35 or 40 on this avenue. Be Careful, they are strict. And hide on all the side streets & parking lots.

Interstate 40 East near Mile Marker 398

Knoxville, TennesseeMay 07, 20070 Comments

Just past exit 398 on 40 east (Strawberry plains) there is a dirt divide that is used frequently by THP and Knoxville City. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Knox County officer there. The speed was recently changed from 70 to 60. this 3 lane that is well traveld by trucks and tourists to Gatlinburg and Sevierville. Most are used to the Old 70 that it hard to Not maintain the new 60 posted at the Holston River bridge. This New limit was "Designed To Help Eliminate" smog and pollution in the Smoky Mountains. You figure that one out………..
