Carrollton, Texas Speed Traps

Going West on Trinity Mills between Kelly Blvd and Scott Mill Road, the North side of the George Bush Toll Road, cops love to sit on Old Mill Road. The entire town of Carrollton is one big speed trap. I could list at least two more dozen such locations in the city, so beware of driving anywhere in Carrollton! I live within a couple of blocks of the police station and the police will take hours to answer domestic break-in calls and other property crimes because those generate no revenue for the city. The ones that do come are lazy and surly and will never do anything more than file a report and act like there is nothing more they can do. (That’s because they’re busy writing their quota of speeding tickets!).

I’ve worked on Tarpley for the past few years and just about every one of my coworkers has been pulled over on this street. Tarpley is a short street – parallel to Marsh & Midway and between Trinity Mills & Keller Springs. There’s a specialty car dealership next door and folks like to try out the fast cars, hence the high enforcement. The speed limit is 30 and you’d better stick to that. The Carrollton PD is out there almost every day – I’ve seen countless incidents of people pulled over into our office parking lot with the flashing lights of the motorcycle or squad car behind them. Also mind the stop signs – they’ll pull you over for that as well.

Just North of Beltline on Luna; there will be 1-2 police officers pulling cars over in the early morning. Usually near the end of the month, (but not always). This place catches A LOT of cars because the speed limit is 45, but it is very easy to hit 55.

A cop sits behind the springs of indian creek apartments on hebron pkwy right before you cross over into lewisville and go past the landfill. He usually pulls over people coming from lewisville into carrollton.
