3400 Block of Cliff Oaks Drive near FM 2181 – Swisher

Corinth, TexasDec 11, 20041 Comments

Ticket occured at 4:15pm, (Note: the patrol car is in plain
sight when you turn left on to Cliff Oak drive proceeding westward toward the School)
This trap is located at the 3400 Block of Cliff Oaks Drive in front of the Corinth Elementary School. Cliff Oaks Drive runs parallel to Swisher (FM2181) and is approx. 1 block north of Swisher (within clear sight).
The patrol car is positioned beside the school on the west end and is using the children’s drop off/pick up access road.
From this position, if you point a radar directly south at a target vehicle on Cliff Oak drive it will become very apparent that this alignment can also target the vehicles on Swisher(FM2181)…as far as I could tell, no additional
movement of the radar would be required to target either
vehicles on Cliff Oaks Drive or Vehicles on Swisher.
Result: Cliff Oak Drive is posted at 30 miles per hour,
Swisher(FM2181) is posted at 45 miles per hour,
For a vehicle on Cliff Oak Drive proceeding at
30 miles per hour, a speeding ticket may be issued
for 45 miles per hour – As you can see “it’s right
there on the radar!”” “
