Corinth, Texas Speed Traps
Corinth Parkway
Corinth Parkway warrants a 45MPH speed limit. But in Corinth, they can do what they want. Thus, you have a PARKWAY with a 30mph speed limit, and heavy enforcement. Between I35E and Dobbs Road you will encounter many officers from Corinth ready to relieve you of your money for the slightest offense. Public Safety they claim. The state ought to look into their aggressive speedtraps and incorrectly rated speed limits.
Walton Street near NCTC College
Any time DAY or NIGHT – Corinth Police Dept stalks North Central Texas College (NCTC) students on this road which only recently became a viable route. Until a few months ago the city neglected this road and left it to rot into 80% pot holes and 20% drivable surface. Now that they have expanded the road, repaved it, and made it usable they are taking advantage of the fact that they never changed the speed limit from 30mph when it was a hole-riddled impassible lane. BEWARE! Corinth municipality is hungry for cash. Students are easy prey. Even at Night when road is deserted and pitch black. They will be there ready to reach into your wallet. Unfortunately students can’t afford the harassment.
I-35E north – south –> Sunday mornings
Corinth police North – park on on ramp after exit 458
South – park on on ramp after exit 459
Speed enforcement is very strict. So keep the cruise set to 60 mph on Sunday mornings from 0700 – 1100
FM 2181 and Parkridge
When traveling down 2181 (Swisher) late at night, the speed limit is 40 until you go through Denton city limits. Right after Parkridge (near the high school), a patrol car will often be pulled over facing oncoming traffic. He will be positioned right after the stop light.
