Alexandria, Virginia Speed Traps
S Patrick Street near Duke Street
On the right side of northbound Patrick St (US1), there is an entrance to a parking lot, right before the intersection with Duke St. Usually 2 or 3 police on motorcycles catch traffic entering Old Town from points south (this is a MAJOR commuter route, and connects to the Beltway). The speed limit in Old Town becomes 25, which is completely absurd for the three-lane Patrick Street. Watch out!
Howard Street near Braddock Road
As you are heading towards Braddock Road from Seminary Road, just as you are approaching, cops usually sit in the neighborhood street just before the retirement home. They are usually on motorcycles. The speed limit is 25 on this road, so it’s an easy grab.
N. Jordan Street near seminary Street
Going north from Duke street to Seminary after passing through the Foxchase Apartment Complex (the last traffic light is Howard) the speed limit stays 25 mph and as soon as you round the corner going up the hill. You will occasionally see there three motor cycle cops popping out to grab you. Just like on Quaker two to write tickets and the third to go fishing. "I swear I was only doing 30"
Huntington Avenue near Metroview Parkway
Hidden in the shadows bellow the metro tracks and signage for the Midtown Alexandria Station condo building, directly across from the Huntington Metro Station usually sit two police cars. They target motorists traveling westbound on Huntington Avenue. Once targeted they will walk into the street and direct you to pull over by hand signals. I live in the Midtown building and see this happen on a daily bases.
Huntington Avenue near State Route 1
Coming from the Huntington Metro stop towards Rt-1 on the right hand side the Po-Po sit behind a tree right after the crest of the hill.
