Going east on Herndon Parkway passing over Van Buren Street, heading towards Fairfax County Parkway / Reston. As you come through the series of slight S curves passing the Sprint Nextel buildings Herndon Police typically sit in the entrance of 595 Herndon Parkway on the right hand side of the road and catch people coming around the last bend in the road. It is most commonly Motorcycle cops standing with laser pointed directly at the exit of the turn. Presence is moderately heavy, typically occurring 2-3 times a month and their activity is centered around morning rush hour, afternoon rush hour and lunch time.

WorldGate Drive near The Verizon Building

Herndon, VirginiaMay 15, 20060 Comments

The Herndon and Sometime Fairfax police RECORD YOU often without you knowing it. ALL along Worldgate they hide withing the Espire(former) parking lot and they also hide in the condo commuinty lots… Herndon Police cars are all black with a white stripe so they blend into darkness well… The NUMBER 1 place i see them though is ON PRIVATE PROPERTY within the parking lot of Verizon/Savvis building, Speed limit is 35 MPH on Worldgate but people regularly do 50MPH or more.. IT so true what someone else has said about 14 miles per hour or less they GENERALLY leave you alone but 16 or more dats your hide..i have a long paid $152 ticket for doing 51 in a 35 from aug 2005

Dranesville Road near Third Street

Herndon, VirginiaAug 03, 20050 Comments

Cruiser parks on Third Street just east of Dranesville Rd. There is a fence there to hide them from the traffic coming in from the north. I used to live right there – they sit there fairly often and bust cars just after they cross Hendon Parkway.

Wiehle Avenue near Cassia Street

Herndon, VirginiaJul 06, 20040 Comments

An officer will park on the north corner of Wiehle and Cassia. He will stand in the middle of the west-bound lanes (2) and about 100 yards from the apex of a hill obscuring him. I have a friend who lives on the corner of this intersection and he can report that an officer is there quite frequently during work hours. Also note that in general, Virginia Police do not perform total enforcement and will only ticket for speeds in excess of 14 mph over the posted limit. This arbitrary doctorine contributes to the danger as not all speeding vehicles will be stopped.
