Richmond, Virginia Speed Traps
Buford Road under Powhite Bridge
Road makes a long downhill before it passes under Powhite Parkway. Speed limit is 35. If you take your foot off the accelerator at the top of the hill, you’ll gain over 20 mph by the time you reach the bridge.
The squad car sits in the shadow of the bridge facing South where it is nearly invisible.

Lee Bridge (US Hwy 1) crossing James River
Going Southbound, cops either wait on the on-ramp to the bridge from Oregon Hill (last neighborhood facing the River on the north side) or wait at the end of the bridge. Lee Bridge is built just like an interstate highway complete with highway type signage, jersey barriers and shoulders so even the cops and the city buses break the 40mph speed limit!
Going Northbound, the cops wait in the parking lot entrance to either the War Memorial or the HUD building next to the memorial. A tempting traffic light encourages speeding as well.
