Richmond, Virginia Speed Traps

Trap is located on the left side of the road, a couple hundred yards+ after you pass the entrance onto I95 North. Officer is not visible until too late.

State Trooper (usually marked) car. Officer sits in a dirt patch right next to the Bells Road entrance ramp (just past the over-pass). There’s a bend in the highway just prior to the spot so there’s no way you can see him. Also the Southbounders can’t warn you as there is a high barrier dividing the highway. I’ve been ticketd there, S.T. was in a marked Camaro.

Sunday morning when you are going to Sunday School.

Chesterfield or Richmond Police sit on the median under the underpass as you go towards the city on Midlothian, or come from Chesterfield into the city. They usually are there when it’s getting darker so you can’t see them. Speed limit and localities change at the underpass.

Motorcycle cops set up across from Mary Munford Elementary, just West of Malvern Avenue. The speed limit is 25mph, but folks tend to go much faster. The officer will set up in the side streets to typically pull people heading east on Cary Street towards downtown.
