Springfield, Virginia Speed Traps
Cops sit in church parking lot on right just after ravensworth rd. Just about everyday they are out there.
Be careful when traveling the flyover on Franconia/Old Keene Mill Road. Five-0 likes to sit at the crest of the bridge, just at the very top of bridge where you don’t notice them until it is too late. By then, they’ve got you on radar and they are standing there and signaling you to pull over. Notice Franconia Road’s speed limit is five miles per hour slower. The flyover is way too easy to speed and find yourself getting a fat ticket. Watch it.
Police park in the parking lot and wait for speeders with their speed guns. When one goes flying by, they pull out of the parking lot and pull them over. The speed limit there is 25 mph but you are rolling down a hill and your speed picks up there, so you have to make a conscious effort to keep your speed down.
After Sydenstriker rd. exit going north bound there is a trap on the right turn-in to Hoose rd., just after the downhill and across the bridge.
The state police will sit on the left hand side of the road between the barriers for the HOV entrance and get you when you come around the bend after the Duke St. exit from 395. They usually do this on weekend or holiday mornings.
