Ephrata, Washington Speed Traps
The cop hid in the student parking lot of Ephrata High School. Parked inside it quite a ways so you have no possible way of seeing him. Then hid behind a students car clocking people. Pulled over at least 5-7 people today. Let some of them go because they said their speedometer was broken. But then others, just gave them the ticket even if they told them that it was broken.
South end of town just as you enter traveling from I90 to Grand Coulee. Speed drops from 60 to 50. Picked up by car radar at about 11pm. The 2 locals traveling before and after me were not ticketed.
Also the main road through town changes speed several times for no apparent reason. Hope this helps someone, first ticket in 31 years. At least the officer was polite.
A squad car will sit to the north end of St Rosa Lima school to monitor the traffic going to and from Wal Mart. The speed limit is 25 regular, 20 if the speed limit light is flashing.
Ephrata PD is now using an Charcol Colered UNMARKED Dodge Challanger with a trailer with two jet skis attached. They will position this unit in a parking lot in one of the businesses on Basin Street (Hwy 281) The officer is using radar from inside the vehicle and radioing his buddies five or six blocks down the street who then pick you off. Very sneaky…..
A WSP will sit on the Ephrata race track side facing Wal Mart, monitoring the Hwy 282 traffic. They’re a ways back to keep out of sight.
