State Highway 520 near 148th Avenue

Redmond, WashingtonJul 18, 20060 Comments

Westbound 520 just past the 148th Ave exit where 520 curves to the right. LEO likes to hide along the on-ramp to 520 from 148th (on the right) shooting over the jersey barrier into westbound traffic. Often will have one LEO with radar and 1-3 other cars waiting to give chase.

Lake Sammamish Parkway near NE 90th Avenue

Redmond Police will sit in driveways along Lake Sammamish Parkway, just north of the old railroad bridge. This is just south of NE 83rd or NE 90th Street. They target cars coming down the slow decline on Lk. Sammamish Pkwy where the speed limit is a ridiculously slow 35 or 40.

West Lake Sammamish Parkway near Interstate 520

The degree of enforcement here varies, sometimes there’ll be multiple motorcycle cops as well as patrol cars looking for drivers doing 5-10 miles over the limit. This is the area just past the Marymoor Park entry, and the cops wait on the first uphill street to the right. The street is hidden from view until it’s too late to slow down once you see what going on.

90th Street near 160th Avenue

Police sit just beyond the rise of the bridge – before the QFC – and look for easy targets going 5-10 miles per hour over the 30 mile and hour limit. They know that acceleration is required to get over the bridge and look for the few seconds above the limit.

Union Hill Road off 520/Avondale

Redmond, WashingtonOct 18, 20030 Comments

A fairly busy four-lane road, mainly people commuting to or from work. The cops like hanging out around the UPS facility since it’s easy to blend in with all the other traffic. Speed limit is definitely low, and the slow dump trucks heading towards Cadman encourage people to pass and get a ticket.
