Charleston, West Virginia Speed Traps

Police will sit parked at the curb in the 800 Block of Bigley Ave, before the foot of the Washington Street-Civic Center Exit. As you come off of that exit ramp and onto Bigley or Penn. Ave. North, they are "lasing" you from behind. I can look out my kitchen window and see car after car being pulled over by the time they get to the Go-Mart parking lot in the 700 Block.

Officers are hiding under interstate bridge, one shooting radar and one standing in the road pulling NICE vehicles over. Speed is 30mph, but they PICK the nicest vehicle out of a group and issue a ticket! Amazing, how other older vehicles zoom on by, but only the newer vehicles are pulled over while being issued a ticket!!!!! IT’S A TRAP!!! The way they shoot the radar, they could be picking any vehicle up!

Police will sit behind the bushes just past Suger Ck road speed limit is 40 mph and use raydar to get you

I drive this area several times a day and do not know their hiding spots. One is at the boat shop by the old Kellers Gas Station. Just beware from 20th street to where West Washington picks back up at the Cold Spot. Funny thing, I see police speeding up through there all the time.
