Gauley Bridge, West Virginia Speed Traps
Gualey Bridge
On Nov 19 I got a ticket they told me I had 30 days to pay or my operators would be suspended. I went to town hall on Dec. 18 with $150.00 in change to pay my ticket. They refused to take my payment. In doing so they violated The Coinage Act of 1965, specifically section 31 U.S.C. 5103 entitled “Legal Tender.” I had an attorney call their attorney and he said I could pay it on Monday. Well, I drove down there and they were closed because of a power outage. Well it’s been over 30 days. I’m waiting to see if my operators will be suspended because of this violation. I am also waiting to hear from the prosecuting attorny to see if there will be any action taken against the parties who violated my rights or is the law only for certain people? In closing, gather up your change!
I love this country.
