don’t have the ticket in front of me. the town is only 4.2sq

i can honestly tell you that i will put my life on what I’m saying is true.. there is no way i was speeding in this town.. it went from a 70mph dark highway to a 50mph small but very lighted town.. their are two very big signs that warn you of this, they are about two football fields away from each other, so there is ample time to slow down, which i did!! there are three traffic lights after this and there is no way anyone would speed thru there esp ME, since i was in absolutely no rush because i was way ahead of schedule going to my destination, South Carolina from Pittsburgh and i was due(according to my gps) to arrive at 3am but i didn’t want to arrive soo early(my more ideal time would have been after 9am).. i believe at least 2 of the 3 lights caught me and i had to wait for them to turn green.. so I’m at the last light(for about 45seconds), it turned green and apparently there was a cop behind me(probably been running my plates)(btw i had NY plates).. so he pulled me over came up to the car asked for my paperwork, etc and proceeded to tell me that i was going 70 thru this lil town with three back to back lights.. i almost fainted from the disbelief of this blatant lie this officer just told me and the fact that i had a badge didn’t mean anything, i REALLY couldn’t believe what had just happened…. but at minimum they was stopping you if you had out of town plates.

don’t be misled that only summersville is a speed trap–further south you encounter Fayetteville (which several residents told us us even worse than summersville). My husband got a $172.00 ticket for "improper lane change’. there was no one front or back of us and he gave the turn signal a quick 2 or 3 clicks. Low and behold "flashing lights" and what should have been only a warning turns into this ridiculous ticket.

From now on we will take I-95 on our yearly trip to Florida–never another dime to be spent in West Virginia for us. BTW my husband has NEVER had a ticket prior to this!!

I got pulled over by an old (nice) cop.Apparenly I was going about 70 in the 65 zone.
After a lengthy conversation,he told me to slow down driving in to Summersville because the limit dropped to 50 and then 40.
He said his brother(also a cop) was sitting there with a radar and there was no way that he was going to let me off .(Apparently they had an argument that day)
He wished me a nice day and send me on my way.
I have never again broken the speed limit anywhere near that town

You are written a ticket if you go one mile over the posted speed limit! we were told at our local AAA office, that one person, that had stopped for a stop light, was given a ticket, because the car had rolled on the white line at the stop light. The cop that wrote the ticket was not even in a car,but merely was sitting on a folding chair on the sidewalk,at the light.
