Beloit, Wisconsin Speed Traps
Highway 81 or Milwaukee Road at White Avenue
Beloit Police Department sits all along this intersection and monitors incoming and outgoing traffic.
Elmwood Avenue between Shopiere Road and Prairie Ave.
Patrol often sits in the parking lot of dental offices on the north side of the street.
I-43 on the east side of Beloit
If you exit from I-39/I-90 onto I-43 heading towards Milwaukee it is 55 mph for about two miles so you’re cruising a 4 lane at 65 onto a 4 lane that’s 55–It’s worse from the other direction (coming from Milwaukee)–even though it’s posted to slow to 55 they sit just over the hill after the transition. There appears to be no logical reason for the speed change where its posted.
Park Ave.
You will see them sitting in several different parking lots across from Fairbanks Morse Factory on the east side of the street. This is a new spot since the city has been enforcing speed limits due to a grant they received.
County Hwy S – Shopiere Road
Shopiere Road between Murphy Woods and the interstate – I 90. Recently this road was widened to a 4 lane and it’s wide open, so it makes it harder to judge your speed. The police like to sit behind The Oaks sign or just north on a small road that leads to an obscure county park. The township police sit here whenever they need some income. It’s right in front of my house and sometimes see 4-6 people caught in an hour.
