Kenosha, Wisconsin Speed Traps
Washington Road near 28th Avenue
There are always Kenosha PD officers waiting in the parking lot of the Jantz auto yard. They wait in the west corner at random times during the day, almost always before or after Jantz’s buisness hours. They are hard to see ahead of time. Be prepared driving in that whole stretch from 22nd Ave to 28th Ave on Washington Rd.
52nd Street near 46th Avenue
Quite often a Kenosha police car will be parked on 46th Avenue (sometimes 47th Avenue) off 52nd Street (one of the main arteries of Kenosha). If you get pulled over by them, chances are it is your own fault as they are looking for the 15+ MPG speeders but that isn’t to say they might nail you going 10 over if you are driving the wrong car. This trap is manned moderately and you may see them at this location anytime of the day but Mostly at night.
39th Avenue near 55th – 57th Streets
they clock people going north & south from a long distance away. I got clocked going south from 50th street doing 50 in a 30 and they stopped me close to 60th St.
County Trunk E near State Highway 31
Current heavy enforcement along Highway E from 30th Avenue (City of Kenosha) to HW 31/Green Bay Road (Town of Somers). These roads border the UW-Parkside campus…the school’s "police force" is suddenly trying to justify its existence by pulling over many motorists and issuing huge tickets for negligible violation of low speed limit. Resident of area (and victim), have observed this for weeks.
sheridan Road near 38th Street
There is an alley behind the house on the Northwest corner. The cruiser is virtually invisible behind well groomed hedges until you are nearly even with them. It appears to be a car parked in a driveway. They are able to pick you up on radar 3 blocks away as you come out of the curve near 35th Street.
