Panama City, Florida Speed Traps
Hwy 98, Hathaway Bridge Area / Hwy 79 & Hwy 388 Airport Area
Both areas listed are serious. The Hwy 98 / Hathaway Bridge location is mainly patroled by the Panama City PD, where the average age of the officer pulling you over is 21 years old. Most of them are attempting to make a name for themselves.
The location on Hwy 79 & Hwy 388 near the NEW airport is patrolled by The Florida Highway Patrol, mainly in unmarked cars. A favorite place for the FHP to sit & conduct radar is at the bottom of the Hwy 79 West Bay Bridge. The speed limit drops from 65MPH to 45MPH in less than 1 mile. BE WARNED!
Hwy 77, Bailey bridge either side
Side of bridge connecting to Lynn Haven goes all the way down to 35mph which is where cops routinely camp out. When going into Southport the cops are usually hiding on the right side of the road just past the bridge, be very careful all the way down Hwy 77 up until you reach Hwy 20 as the FHP are very unforgiving and do not hesitate to enforce the absolute maximum fine.
