Montgomery, Alabama Speed Traps
Hwy 331 between Hyundai Blvd and the Southern Blvd
331 is a 4 lane divided highway. The speed is 65 before Hyundai blvd. Between Hyundai blvd and the Southern Blvd it drops to 35. There are police officers there every day writing tickets. I’ve seen them pull cars over back to back. I’ve noticed them pull over probably 15 different cars in the last few weeks, and I am only on that road a few minutes 2-3 times a week.
They aren’t there slowing down traffic. There are other ways to do that like using more visible signage and warnings.
Northern Blvd (AL 152) between Coliseum Blvd and US 231
I travel this route to go to church, and for a while I’ve observed that this area is a known hotspot for speed trap activity on at least Sunday mornings and early Sunday afternoons. There will usually be one or two MPD units sitting in a crossover for an unnamed road between 231 and N Belt Dr (which starts northbound from Northern Blvd).
I 65 South Between Mile marker 168 and 170
Be careful! During the morning rush hour on I65 South near Montgomery, Alabama there will be heavy traffic until the I85 interchange. Afterward traffic will start filtering out and there is a big curve between mile 170 and 168. There will be an unmarked Camaro sitting on the right shoulder catching people. You won’t be able to see it until a certain point in the curve. The speed limit is briefly 60mph for that section of highway. Everyone speeds- up there because it’s like a “break loose” after being stuck going 40 mph in heavy traffic for about 5 miles and the speed limit increases shortly afterward because you are leaving the city. He has been there almost every morning for over a year now.
I85 North of Montgomery
New speed camera on I85 North just north of Waugh exit. It flashed as I went under it wasn’t even going 75 in a 70. Expecting a ticket in mail soon.
Drove back through and seen it flash on other cars there are two poles one with a camera the other with a light.
White Hall Alabama
The officer is writing speeding tickets every day I received one on feb. 13 2015 for the amount of 74 mph in a 65 mph zone my truck is gorvn at 65 mph I went to court on it have not heard back on it yet. But every ticket the officer wrote was for 9 mph to 25 mph over the posted speed limit. He said he clock me by radar but would not show me his radar and I could his radar and it was not showing anything on it at the time he stopped me. He is out their every day writing tickets. I think White Hall, Al. Is using speeding tickets as revenue thanks
