Phoenix, Arizona Speed Traps
48th Street
On 48th St between Southern and Alameda/Roeser on the East side of 48th St there is a white photo-radar van. It’s not always there they place it randomly. So watch out for it!
US Highway I-17 near US Highway I-10
All of the mobile photo radar units that are operating in the maricopa and pinal counties are running a K-band radar that is a low powered unit and i picked up the radar reflections off of a car in front of me. And i have hit them units and can pick up a weak radar signal around about 1/4 mile when on surface street. Get a good detector also ARS codes state that photo enforcement Zones have to be marked or the ticket is invalid and the statute on time is 120 days, if the ticket is served 121 days after citiation the ticket is null and void. good luck happy speeding
7th Street near Deer Valley Road
I drive this route everyday. I have seen City of Phx and MCSO run primarily K-band and a lot more Ka-Band radar in crusier units. The Motorcycle cops use primarily Lidar. I currently run the Escort 9500i along with the ZR3 shifter heads with VEIL coating and have been popped with laser and I have always been glared at by the cops. With the radar I just have it marked in my detector as a speed trap. With the widening of 7th St. it’s safer to stay in the number 1 lane although it makes it easier for the cops to see ya, it in turn makes them easier to spot.

I see or bike cops looking to tag people at least once a week. I also see people being pulled over in the morning by cars.
