I10 westbound near US 60 interchange

AZ DPS gray suv hiding behind the barriers.

I17 between 101 and Table Mesa Rd.

DPS has been working this stretch hard the last three weeks. Motors hide at the top of the on ramp from Dixaletta on the north bound side. Coming south watch the center dividers for the turnouts DPS hides there against the brush visually clocking and at times with radar. They seem to be ticketing out of state cars the most.

Roosevelt between 59th & 51st

Phoenix, ArizonaSep 04, 20140 Comments

Just got into town from California 8:30 p.m. on a Thurs night. In Phoenix for our granddaughters birthday. We checked into our hotel then went out to find a place to eat. It was already dark outside. We turned onto Roosevelt off of 59th. All of a sudden in the middle of Roosevelt a cop’s motorcycle lights are turned on right in front of us. The speed on that street is 25 mph. There were industrial buildings on one side of the street and empty fields on the other side. Being new in town and not seeing the speed limit sign who would have possibly guessed a speed limit of 25 would be on a street with industrial buildings on one side and empty fields on the other. The following day we went by a high school and the speed limit was 35. Really…… and by Industrial buildings and empty fields 25 mph. During the period of time the cop was writing us a ticket another motorcycle cop came up. She said to him “from California?” He said “yes.” California drivers beware. Make sure you know the speed limit on every street in AZ and don’t go over it. Cops are laying in waiting for you.

7th Street at Highland

Phoenix, ArizonaNov 05, 20130 Comments

I received a ticket recently and saw no cameras or warning signs or a van. They gave 7th and Highland as the marker; I travel 7th each day to/from work. I assume there might have been an officer there hidden off the road?

1-10 Off-Ramp & Westbound (Buckeye St) to 16th Street

Phoenix, ArizonaOct 15, 20130 Comments

This is a six (6) lane divided highway that is thirty-five (35) miles per hour. There is no reason to have the speed at thirty-five (35) miles per hour. The officer who stopped us stated it was because there were big trucks pulling out of the drive-way, but in my two (2) years driving around here, I have never seen a big rig, much less a big truck pull out of any drive-way. I have seen about fifty (50) ticketed motorists since then and I work inside most of the day.

The motor cops love to sit hidden in traffic and behind the signs with their radar gun. It is a speed trap heaven for them.
