Scottsdale, Arizona Speed Traps
Hayden Road
White van sits on the east side of the unfinished, uncurbed road – no street lights (as typical in north Scottsdale) – complete darkness until the "FLASH"!, which then makes it dangerous to drive for a while afterwards due to pupil dilation. The road has gone from 45MPH to 35MPH to 25MPH in less than a few blocks – and then the van!
Indian School Road near Spur Circle
Scottsdale PD sit back on Spur Circle or any of the little side streets coming off Indian School Rd and use a radar to clock people… been pulled over twice in 2 years here… there are no lights and limit is posted 40 and people FLY down this road all the time. Also, photo radar sits on Indian School and on Osborn between 64th St and 68th street all the time.
Camelback Road near Miller Street
Motorcycle cop hides about 1/4 mile ahead of the photo radar van on Camelback Rd near Miller and gets people as they speed up past the van.
64th Street near Thomas Road
Scottsdale photo van on the south side of Thomas just east of 64th street. Tricky because Thomas dips down after it crosses the canal, obscuring the view of the van. I believe eastbound only. Usually several times a week, operates well into the evening. Speed limit drops from 45 to 40 east of 64th street where the van parks.
64th Street near Thomas Road
Located on 64th street between Thomas and Oak. Both cars and motorcycles, sometimes in pairs, monitoring both north and southbound traffic from the west side of 64th. Common late night enforcement. I live in the neighborhood just to the east and would have gotten popped several times at 20+ if it were not for my V1.
