Cop usually sits behind a tree or in clear view. North side of the road far away from Highway 126. Signage does clearly state “Speed Enforced By Radar” He sits approximately 200-300 yards from The Shell Gas station up on the dirt. In clear view or behind the tree. As you continue further West, others officers wait as continue to crawl through town.

CHP sits facing West just past the Valero gas station. Westbound traffic crests at the station and gets painted with the hand-held radar gun.

Eastbound 126 on the way into town

After crossing the bridge going into town and the speed limit drops, look ahead to the first traffic light. Most mornings there is a motorcycle officer parked on the sidewalk behind the electrical transformer on the right side of the road just beyond the light. he looks either over the transformer or between the transformer and the utility pole.

Entering Fillmore from Westbound 126

As you approach Fillmore the speed limit changes several times in a short distance 60 to 50 to 45 to 35. The 35mph sign sits at the beginning of a curve. Many times there is a Patrolman with a radar gun there. Since this is a highway that goes through a town, there are a lot of large trucks that can block one’s view of the several speed limit signs. Also, exiting town on west side is a senseless sign that says “END 45MPH SPEED LIMIT”. It doesn’t tell you what the speed limit is! Ticket in this area is around $350.

State Highway 126

Fillmore, CaliforniaMay 28, 20092 Comments

When heading eastbound on HWY 126 out of Fillmore, a motorcycle officer parks in the entrance of the senior mobile home park just outside of town where the speed limit is still 45 mph but less than 300 yards from where the speed limit increases to 60 mph. If you speed up too soon when heading out of town or don’t slow down quick enough while heading into town, you will get pulled over.
