Bake Parkway near Jeronimo Road

Irvine, CaliforniaMar 25, 20060 Comments

On westbound Bake just before Jeronimo interchange I have been finding both CHP and Irvine motorcops sitting on a culvert access road trying to nail people going over the 50 mph limit. If your not looking, you won’t see them.

Laguna Canyon Road near 73 Expressway

Irvine, CaliforniaJan 18, 20060 Comments

Police catch people going Southbound on 133 (Laguna Canyon Rd) just before the 73 tollroad. The posted speed limit is 40mph, but most people cruise at 60-65mph. The road is currently under construction which doubles the fine. I see police cars waiting in a side road just around a corner, which catches people by surprise. Mostly on weekends during the early afternoon.

West Peltason Drive near Mesa Road

Watch out for no right-turn on red, coming from Science Library parking and making a right turn onto West Peltason. Motorcycle police officers often enforce this intersection on weekdays, and I’ve seen countless people pulled over on a daily basis. Watch out!

CampusBridge Street near UCI Campus

Irvine, CaliforniaJun 20, 20050 Comments

Motocycle units sit at the corner intersections observing traffic on Campus Drive and Bridge. They pull over people mostly for over for making right turns on red lights without stopping. They’re difficult to spot if heading towards Bridge from University Dr. They make use of the hedges and abundant foot traffic as cover and distraction from their presence.

West Peltason Drive near Bridge Road

About once a month or so a motorcycle cop will sit in the parking lot that sits against this T intersection on UCI grounds and wait for people to roll through the stop sign. Just take a quick look in that parking lot before you get to the stop and you’ll be fine.
