Pasadena, California Speed Traps
Los Robles Avenue near Marengo Avenue
Around 4 PM almost everyday lately, two motorcycle cops shoot radar for southbound vehicles on Los Robles Av. just north of its intersection with Marengo Avenue. With a downslope grade greater than 6% and the posted speed being 30 mph, you better watch your speed or else you’ll be helping to finance the Rose Bowl Parade.
Fair Oaks Avenue near Laurel Street
A single officer on a motor cycle sits on the south/west corner of Laurel Street and Fair Oaks Avenue. The officer sits on Laurel watching mainly southbound traffic on Fair Oaks. The lanes open to 3 or 4 lanes several streets back. So after you are frustrated on the 2 lane commute down Fair Oaks past all the stores, don’t speed when the road expands to 4 lanes! He will be waiting for you most mornings. I see him a lot around 9:45am and around 11:00am.
Michillinda Boulevard near Interstate 210
Motor Cop will sit on sidestreets and trap Southbound downhill traffic just North of Foothill Blvd.
Sierra Madre Boulevard near San Marino Avenue
Southbound: motorcycle officers, primarily, on side streets before the eastern bend in Sierra Madre just above the merge with San Marino and Huntington – usually around corners with radar guns and they’ll nab anyone going over the posted limit of 40mph. Not as frequently, they’ll be on the northbound side, again on side streets at the end of curves.
Pasadena Avenue near California Street
Pasadena Av both North and Southbound between California St and Bellafontaine. Notorious motorycle radar trap, often with 2-3 units operating simultaneously. Barely posted speed limit is 30 mph, traffic routinely travels over 40 mph safely.
