San Francisco, California Speed Traps
Cops on motorcycle can sometimes be seen hiding between parked cars on the Northbound (downslope) side of Alemany. I have seen them shooting radar and some times radar mounted on tripod.
A cop on motorcycle can sometimes be seen on the Southbound side of the tunnel. The tunnel on the Southbound side is a slight downhill slope with cars and buses traveling at around 35mph with the posted speed limit of 25mph. He is extremely hard to spot because he sits right by the end of the tunnel.
Cook Street is off of Geary Blvd., half a block from the Bridge Theater. I live on Cook Street. I’ve often seen up to four motorcycle cops lined up, single file, on Cook, just back far enough from Geary so that they can’t be seen until the last few seconds. They’re waiting for speeders on Geary Blvd. When going to work, I turn onto Geary from Cook. After going by the "line-up" of cops and turning onto Geary, I will then see at least six more (no exageration) bike cops that have pulled people over, both north and south of Cook Street, on Geary. This happens about once a month but I’ve not been able to get the "timing" down. Watch out on Geary Blvd, from Arguello to Masonic!
Bicycle cop on Golden Gate Bridge will tag; motorcycle cop on the other side pulls over.
The cops sit on either side of the tunnel on Highway 1 between the intersection of 19th ave/Lake and the Golden Gate Bridge.
