Grand Junction, Colorado Speed Traps
Ute Avenue near 6th Street
They hide in the parking lot located south east of 6th and Ute and write tickets all day long. They will put a car with no one in it out there for a while, and then when people get used to it being there, they put someone in the car and write a lot of tickets.
F Road near 12th Avenue
Bike Officers sit near 12th avenue at Wells Fargo ATM location and shoot lasers through the bushes. The only thing that keeps this from being their favorite location is the lack of places for a vehicle to pull over… but they’ll still get you.
15th Street near Patterson Road
The speed limit on Patterson Road is 35mph. Turn south on 15th Street and the speed limit drops down to 25mph. Not being alert to the change I got a ticket.
B 1/2 Road near State Highway 50
Traveling west on B 1/2 Road right before it intersects with Hwy. 50, the posted speed limit is 30 mph, but increases to 45 mph as you merge. The City enjoys catching people accelerating to merging speed too soon.
Interstate I-70 near Debeque Canyon
curvy canyon, State Patrol & CDOT sits in hidden corners East and West Bound lanes, several miles apart. Very Heavily Patrolled.
