Grand Junction, Colorado Speed Traps
Colorado National Monument
As many know the monument used to be a great place to drive at night. with no traffic and relitivly safe conditions it was a lot of fun. now there is so much enforcement by park rangers that it is dangerous. I live in Glade Park so I drive the road every day. Many common spots are the Devils Kitchen parking lot 0.1 miles past the guard station. and Cold Shivers parking lot near the top at about 3 miles. Watch for parking lights and keep your speed reasonable.
Intersection 24 and G road
Since the widening of 24 road and the building of Canyon View Park, traping has increased the speed limit is 40 mph. GJPD usually sits on the West side of the road near the intersection of G road
North Avenue
Do Not Speed in the 300 Block of North Avenue, Near Old Chicago’s. Officer Fox sits on the westbound side in the parking lot to harbort lumber. 30 of all speeding tickets in Grand Junction are written by Officer Fox. He Uses A Car with Radar and A Motorcycle with Lidar. Fox will ticket for 5 miles over the posted 30 which is too low for a 4 lane divided street. Also he will sit east bound where the speed sudenly jumps from 45 to 30 coming of of high way 50. Your best bet is not to speed at all from 1st street to 5th street.
