Bayshore Road near Slater Road

Fort Myers, FloridaDec 21, 20070 Comments

Bayshore Road was recently upgraded to 4 lanes. As you travel west from I-75 the road changes to 45 at the curve about 1/2 mile from Slater. Troopers sit on the grass medium. Nothing but cows and open areas. I didn’t get a ticket. The trooper was very cordial. Gave me a warning.

Hancock Bridge Parkway near Cleveland Avenue

Fort Myers, FloridaOct 26, 20070 Comments

At Hancock Bridge and Cleveland Ave (US 41) there is a no turn on red sign when turning right from Hancock onto Cleveland Ave. The police sit around the corner in the Walgreens and other parking lots waiting for people to turn on red. It is plainly marked “No Turn on Red”” so as much as I hate to say it – if we turn on red we deserve it.”

Daniels Road near Interstate I-75

Fort Myers, FloridaSep 25, 20070 Comments

Officers (usually Sheriffs) hide in the Median, which has heavy and tall brush in it, thereby blocking the view of oncoming traffic until the last second, when it is too late. The median is about 1/4 mile west of I-75, near the BBT bank. They usually are focusing on Westbound traffic heading into town for AM Rush hour. There are also motorcycle cops that patrol the same corridor all the way up to Daniels extension and SR82.
