State Route 41 near 1st. Street
Coming down off the bridge, Old US 41 (New Edison Bridge)also referred to as North Tamiami Trail which becomes Fowler St.. As you enter the city of Fort Myers, motorists pass 1st Street, there the Officer will stand on the side walk aiming his laser gun at motorist coming off the bridge. The speed drops to 35 MPH as you enter the city. This is a typical southern speed trap at the bottom of a bridge or hill. The Officer will walk out in to the street and flag you down. Beware coming off the bridge that you have reduced your speed to 35MPH or less.
Palm Beach Boulevard near Buckingham Road
Between Joel Blvd. and Buckingham Rd. It’s about a 5 mile stretch. It is very open with farms and cow pastures. There are areas that are 45 mph. It’s so spacious that it feels like your creeping down the road at 60mph. Very easy to speed if you are not paying attention. State Trooper favorite. It is toward the Alva area.
US Highway 41 near Speed Sign
One mile Southbound on US 41 after entering Lee County the speed limit drops from 65 mph to 55 mph. Within a 1/4 mile, the radar is waiting on the right side of this 4 lane divided hy.
