Winter Springs, Florida Speed Traps
South Moss Rd heading north before 434
I took a left from Murphy Road onto S. Moss Rd. a Winter Springs cruiser was parked off the road in the Temple Israel parking lot. When we got up to the Temple Israel Parking lot the cruiser pulled us over. Said I was doing 36 in a 25 MPH speed zone. Gave me a 166.00 ticket for failure to obey a traffic control device. I actually went back on S. Moss Rd to Murphy The policeman was already back at his spot in the Temple Israel parking lot. I did see the speed limit sign, looked pretty new. Watch out they have yet another revenue source in the City of Winter Springs.
Belle Av.
At the south end of Belle Av.hidden by trees on the east side of the road, they hide here with radar. I know from a previous ticket.
St. Rte. 434 from Black Hammock to 1/4 mile east of 17-92
This poor excuse of a city is a speed trap. They don’t have a fire department, but they sure can have a police department in a city with no crime. Do not even think about going one mile over the speed limit on 434 or you will see either an unmarked VW Beetle or a motorcycle with lights and sirens behind you. Be careful on St. Rte. 434, from Black Hammock to almost 17-92, its all Winter Springs jurisdiction even though you see a sign for Oviedo going east near 417 and Longwood going west near 17-92. Once you pass 17-92 or Hammock Way, you are out of this city known as "Waldo Springs"
Winter Springs Town Center
There are TWO stop signs leaving the town center onto 434, by Subway. The cops frequently sit in the median between that exit of the center and the light at Tuskawilla… If you don’t come to a complete stop at that first stop sign, you will get ticketed. The signs are only about 10 feet apart… don’t ‘breeze’ through it!
