Alpharetta, Georgia Speed Traps
Academy St.
This road appears to be a sleepy nice road of enchantment…Then DAMMIT. Under the shade tree out steps two motorcycle cops. This pair appears to be some modern day death squad. For real I passed these two in three different locations in a six hour period and each time the cars were lined up like a buffet line for them to appearently gete tickets.
The entire city
In case people havent read the local paper. Watch out for Alharetta’s finest. The chief has increased the traffic unit to include some ticket writing fools if the papers statistics are correct. These officers are always in the local papers and it appears that Alpharetta has placed a giant red bullseye on traffic offenders. Oh yes and DO NOT give those guys any attitude because from experience they dont tolerate it. Watch out.
Windward Pkwy
Alpharetta Must have 1000 motorcycles and 2000 cars because you can not drive without seeing one of them. It usually has some guy in it who says he is with the traffic enforcement unit. Those guys are on a mission and they are hardcore. BEWARE the wrath of these guys.
GA 400 NB at Windward Pkwy
This is a construction area where posted speed limits are 55mph. At any given time, traffic is easily in excess of 80mph or more. Alpharetta City Police are patrolling this area strongly. Officers will sit off to the side of the road down the ditch out of view of all commuters.
Taylor Road
Taylor Road attaches to Jones Bridge and is a one-way street leading to Chattahoochee High and Taylor Road Middle schools as well as several neighborhoods. The extreme traffic caused by a one way street to a school prevents speeding when school gets in and out but there is a window in which you can get a ticket. What do most kids do when they sleep in? They drive fast to school to avoid being late. Well, the same cop that directs traffic at the Jones Bridge Taylor Road intersection comes down to the bottom of the hill and catches students flying down the 25 MPH limit sign. You can’t see them till you peak the hill and they already have you. Don’t speed down that hill during school hours – especially 8:30 – 10:00 a.m.
