Lawrenceville, Georgia Speed Traps
Bethesda Church Road and Ronald Reagan Parkway
Thirteen or fourteen police cars and motorcylces going both ways on Ronald Reagan. Sitting on entrance and exit ramp to Bethesda Church Road.
Entire City
The entire city of Lawrenceville is a speed trap. LPD will use any excuse to write you a ticket, and in quite a few cases make up excuses(I was going about 40 along Simonton, officer claimed he had me going 71) The officers are generally very rude to you.
Highway 316
Motorcycle policemen hide in the shadows of virtually every underpass at all times of the day. The city of Lawrenceville is financing a multi-million dollar courthouse with exorbitantly high traffic fines. The smallest fine I issued the day I went to court was $260. Typical speeding fines were in the range of DUI fines. There is an obvious racket exploiting motorists. Likewise, the judges and clerks in the court, obviously hardened to their exploitative scheme, are extraordinarily rude and uncooperative. No traffic court dates can be re-set, regardless of the circumstances. All fines must be paid in cash at the trial date or the defendant is issued a probation officer like a common burglar.
Airport Road
Right by 316, after you get off Hurricane Shoals Road, the speed limit frops from 45mph to 25mph in like, 20 feet, so watch out because the 5-0 hides behind the trees and long grass and will laser you, even if you’re going the same speed as everybody else. Watch out if you own a red car.
On Hwy. 316 under Riverside Pkwy Bridge.
One police car or multiple motorcylce units sit underneath the Riverside Pkwy bridge that goes over Hwy. 316 in Lawrenceville. They are usually looking for speeders going southbound towards Duluth/Atlanta.
