Madison, Georgia Speed Traps

Local State Trooper usually sits on east side of 441, day and night on several properties near Marathon gas station. Vacant commercial building on east side of road (log cabin style with metal roof), right on a curve, often there.

This is a 4 lane rural highway but the speed limit is 45 MPH. It is a favorite place to make money for the City, safety is not the issue.

Although this area appears rural, it quickly goes from 55 to 45 as you approach 441 from the east. They love to catch you on this stretch of road.

On the 441 bypass around the town of Madison, WATCH OUT! I have seen many people pulled over throughout this two or three mile stretch of road. Stay well within ten mph over the speed limit. You shouldn’t bypass Madison anyway; it’s one of the prettiest towns in Georgia.

State Patrol. This stretch of road is rather hilly. Patrolers will catch you coming over hills going to fast, and you will have no time to slow down. Keep it no more than 10 miles over the limit.
