Boise, Idaho Speed Traps
Chinden Boulevard near Five Mile Road
Usually a motorcycle cop in the weeds at the bottom of the hill from HP, on both sides of the road. This stretch used to be 45MPH, and it’s really easy to top the posted 35Mph coming down the hill. Multiple officers work the stretch, so "going with the flow" doesn’t work- look out!
Interstate 84 near Interstate 184
WB Traffic headed towards Nampa, ID between Maple Grove Overpass and Eagle Rd Overpass is monitored by Motorcycle Officers who routinely write several tickets to traffic outbound from the Boise Downtown area.
Fairview Avenue near 31st Street
Inbound motorists in 35 mph zone with no restrictions are caught very easily by Motorcycle Officer who hides behind trees on the Southside of road. Coming around a curve and up over a bridge it is normal for traffic to easily reach 45mph on the wide open 4 lane section.
Federal Way near Bergeson Street
Federal Way east of Bergeson commonly has motorcyle cops parked up on the sidewalk. Mostly they get west bound traffic going downhill just after the speed limit goes from 45 to 40, but can be on the otherside. They’ll be there very early in the morning and sometimes the PM rush hour as well.
Interstate 184 near Cole Road
The eastbound direction is routinely monitored between Cole Rd. and Curtis Rd. as one turns slightly right along I-184. Lasers are often used, making Radar/Laser detectors almost useless.
