Going through New Milford, just south of Rockford, the speed goes from 50 mph to 30 mph in a manner of about a mile. The drop from 40 to 30 southbound is on a downhill with no advance notice. The drop from 40 to 30 northbound is on the other side of a bridge with no advance notice.
