Indianapolis, Indiana Speed Traps

West side of Indy. Officers sit in various spots just west of 465 (as you’re heading out of town) and line up car after car. Speed limit should be 65, but it is 55 until you get out of Marion Co. This gives them about 4 miles of very sparse inerstate to get people going 60. Almost every morning, in either direction, and sometimes even in the afternoon rush.

On the north end of Indianpolis while going southbound on I-65 IN , just south of W 62nd street, State Police hit cars with Ka band instant-on radar as you come around the blind curve approx. 1/8 of a mile north of where I-65 goes over I-465

state police sit under the I-465 East overpass in the shade and get people going east bound on I-70. typically 2 motorcycle cops and 1 car.. they have plenty of everyday they have at least 2 folks pulled over..

At approximately mile marker 1.5. State police park under the Madison Avenue bridge over 465. They will shoot either west or eastbound. Mile marker 1.5 is approximately 1/2 mile east of the US 31/East Street interchange with 465 (not to be confused with US 31 interchange on the Northside of Indy).

Speed limit on US 52 (Brookville Road) on the east side changes from 50 mph to 35 mph right after Shadeland Ave. as you go up the hill and towards Kitley on the way down. If you are speeding at the crest of the hill…. well you know what happens.
