One concealed officer on overpass clocking southbound lanes with 3 plus chase cars pulling over offenders.

US Highway 421 near Entrance to the International School about 4700 North

Indianapolis, IndianaMay 11, 20050 Comments

Speed limit is 45MPH except for 25MPH for school zone. Downhill approach from both directions on a brand new four lane highway. School sets 1/4 mile off road. This is an ideal set-up for a trap and has just begun to be used as such.

Illinois Street near 1300 North Illinois Street

Indianapolis, IndianaApr 28, 20050 Comments

Motorcycle officer stands at edge of street, either between parked vehicles or between buildings. Steps into traffic and directs offenders off the street into a driveway between buildings. Speed limit is 30 mph; in non rush hour periods the street easily accomodates 45 mph. I personally know three others (besides myself!) who have been stopped there within the past 90 days, usually between 10:00 a.m. and noon. I’m careful there now, but often see others pulled over.

Brookside South Parkway near Dearborn Street

Indianapolis, IndianaDec 12, 20040 Comments

This area may be familiar to some as 16th street between Rural and Sherman drive. It is the E-W street just south of Brookside Park. There is a sharp corner just west of Dearborn Street. It is pretty much a blind corner as a retaining wall for landscaping is in the way. Basically what happens here is two IPD officers park their cars down a side street and stand behind this retaining wall spewing death rays at you. Since you’re only doing about 20 around this corner, they just motion people over to the side of the road when they nail them. Pretty blatent trap if you ask me.

Camby Road near Quaker Boulevard

Indianapolis, IndianaSep 26, 20040 Comments

Indianapolis Airport Policeman parks in abandoned housing additons along this road. After intital clocking he will pull out and start tailgating (almost to the point of playing bumber tag)in an effort to increse the severity of your violation before pulling you over about a mile later at a near by intersection. Camby road is an unmarked 45mph limit, however officer believes it’s 35 for some reason. If stopped here remain calm and collected, the officer who patorls this road calls his subjects rude names and freely hurls insults in a loud and indignat manner. The officer only occasionaly issues a citation but if you want to avoid 15 minutes of being insulted go at his beloved 25 mph speed and keep your mouth shut and don’t let the guy get under your skin.
