Gaithersburg, Maryland Speed Traps

Montgomery County police like to sit here in the morning they sit at the top of the hill after you pass the light where Cosco is on the right. If you slow down at the light it is too late! They can see all the way to the entrance of Fitzgeralds auto mall. They sit at the entrance to the Acura dealership or in the median. They can be really tricky to see until its too late. BEWARE they will run in the street infront of your car and if you can easily hit them if you are speeding. They don’t take to kindly to this and they won’t let you talk your way out of the ticket!

I am not sure but I see what I think is Hospital Police or another police department on Medical Center Dr. They have an unmarked truck. I have never seen them stop a car but just wanted to give a heads up to all.

On a side street after you pass Kentlands Shopping Center approaching the Pizza Hut near Quince Orchard HS. Sometimes motocycle cops (nice weather), sometimes a red unmarked Caprice (foul weather). Always using Lidar- Laser! Very hard to detect. Week of 01/01/02, officer sitting in a red caprice with the glass up got me on laser. Hope it wasn’t a new camera system because he did not come after me! My detector went off on Laser but that just let’s you know that you just got clocked. Didn’t pull me over though. It was very cold outside. Many of my co-workers have been ticketed there.

Undercover Crown Victoria will either hang out at the Bank of America (by the high school), the Pawnee Neighborhood, or on Little Quarry Rd. I was caught on Little Quarry and QO. Enforcement always takes place on Tuesday mornings. BEWARE ON TUESDAYS! When the Crown Victoria is not there, there are two motorcycle cops who seem to have a fun time handing out tickets.

Usually a motorcycle unit sitting at/near the synagogue. I’ve only seen him during the AM rushhour.
