Broadway Avenue near NE Marshall Street

There was a speed trap on the bottom of hill as you pass east over the Broadway Avenue Bridge crossing the Mississippi River. I got "nailed" on Father’s Day, some present! I doubt I was much over 35, the officer after stating he had me at 45 MPH gave me a ticket for "Unreasonable Acceleration." Seems like the new strategy to ticket folks, so they won’t fight it.

MSP airport employee….Be careful anywhere around the airport including the City of Richfield! MSP Police are authorized to ticket in any of these areas. One of their favorites, besides Post Road over Hiway 5 looking for people "late" for their planes, is on the eastbound Crosstown just east of Cedar Avenue. MN State Highway Troopers love this spot also!

Minneapolis Police park behind the trees in Boom Island Park and then stand behind a sign with radar/laser checking eastbound traffic coming over the Plymouth Avenue bridge over the Mississippi. I’ve seen this most evening rush hours when the weather is nice.

Hennepin Avenue near NE Main Street

squad cars sit in the entrance to The Nicollet Island Inn and radar cars heading across the Hennepin Bridge on their way out of downtown.

Hennepin Avenue near Wilder Street

Minneapolis, MinnesotaFeb 22, 20070 Comments

The Hennepin Avenue Bridge is posted 30 mph, but it’s a long stretch of three lanes which make it tempting to get up to around 50 mph. Marked Mpls Police cruiser was parked at the Wilder Street turnoff where the bridge goes over Nicollet Island, monitoring traffic heading northeast away from Downtown. Your reporter was ticketed for 50 mph.
